VPC Rules for 2006
There will be two classes of competition Formation Skydiving: Rookie and Intermediate. The Rookie class parallels the National Skydiving League Rookie class. The Intermediate class parallels the NSL AA, and the USPA Intermediate classes. Teams may choose the class in which they will compete:
Each member of a Rookie team must have less than 400 skydives. All participants must have an “A” license. Each team must provide their own videographer. With prior arrangements with the host dropzone, a videographer pool may be provided. Registration fee is $100 per team per meet (includes videographer), or $250 for all three meets. Registration fee is non-refundable. Teams must pay for all jumps, including re-jumps and tie-breakers. Teams may register as many alternates as needed. This encourages a team to participate in all of the meets. Registration opens at Teams are required to complete a team registration form prior to competing in the meet. Competitors are required to have a current waiver on file at the host dropzone. The meet is conducted in accordance with the USPA Skydiver’s Competition Manual. USPA Basic Safety Recommendations and FAA regulations apply at all times. USPA competition rules apply to tie-breakers. The meet will consist of 6 rounds of competition. A minimum of 3 complete rounds is required to finish the meet. The draw will be posted on the NSL website at Teams may not practice skydive any portion of the draw from the time it’s posted until the completion of the meet. Minimum exit altitude is 10,500’. Working time for both classes is 35 seconds. Time begins when any member of the team (except the videographer) leaves the aircraft. Exit altitude and working time may be adjusted by the Meet Director, due to weather/ceiling restrictions. The meet will be conducted on Saturday, with Sunday as a backup and/or completion day. Prizes will be awarded at the completion of each meet to the first, second, and third place teams in each competition class. Team scores will be reported on Monday following the meet for posting on the NSL website. A team must compete in at least two of the three scheduled meets to be eligible for the league championship. A team’s raw score (cumulative) will be used to determine league standings.
Load assignments will be scheduled by the host dropzone, assisted by the Meet Director. A large door aircraft (Twin Otter, Caravan, Pac-750) is required for all meets. Other aircraft may be substituted if necessary with prior approval of the Meet Director. |
