Skydive Monroe Memorial
Skydive Monroe-Monroe,
GA

As was the case state-wide, Skydive Monroe was blessed with gorgeous weather,
low winds, and a beautiful sunset...... quite a switch from that weather-filled
weekend last September.......
Climbing to altitude, 8pm came and went..... we missed time on target -- second
only to his nact forh always having bad weather for his boogies, meeting time
on target for important events is another insurmountable Bills Scott trait....
We continued to climb...
Bill decided to comprise the dive with those persons who were in Chicago; there
were eight of us available for the skydive.
The formation was an easy choice.... a nine-way diamond... with Sandy holding
down the center slot.
Participants included:
Bill Scott, Mark Thompson, Larry Moore, Chuck Smith, Tammy Tatum, Cavin Warren,
Joe Bennett, Gene Koehler, and, in memory and spirit.... Sandy Wambach....
Steve "Zabo" Reynolds flew video and Mike took stills.....
The formation was free-flown from CSS's King Aire 999G..... Fittingly, there
was a "Skydive the Point" sticker on the rear bulkhead..... I had to smile
slightly at that.... I don't know who else say the irony in it.......
The setting sun was a sight to behold...... the sky was clear..... the air
smooth......
The points of the diamond were opposed, with everyone else facing the lead... I
got to fly the point, my back to the sun..... Bill Scott and Mark Thompson
closed docks on wings, with Chuck Smith and Larry Moore taking the outside
wingtip docks.... Tammy and Cavin closed the inside slots, and Joe Bennett
completed the formation my locking in as the trail point.... We left the
center slot open...... we all knew who was filling that one......
The formation broke at 4000'.... and we all tracked away.... with our own
thoughts......
Sandy.... I miss you....... There was so much more to be shared....
Gene Koehler
